DescriptionUOScr can basically be summed up as a 32bit Windows, Ultima Online related, screen saver. However, in truth, it is a screen saver engine. Plug-Ins (two of which are provided with the primary engine) provide unique, UO animations. All animations come directly from UOs data files. Hence, UOScr is of no use without said data files. |

Plug-InsWarning 1 Make sure that you do not have "Do not show hidden or system files" turned on in your folder options in Windows. If you do, you will not be able to see the DLLs that are used for plug-ins. I apologize for this oversight and am considering changing the extension. Warning 2 If you have a version of UOScr from before 12/10/1998, the following Plug-Ins may not function properly. Please download the latest version from above. Wisps 01/24/1999 |

A Brief HistoryEven before hacking the animation files for UO, I thought that a UO related screen saver would be an interesting project. I had all the libraries that I needed to pull it off, just the data was missing. Finally, under undoubtedly divine inspiration, I managed to hack the animation formats. My finds were immediately implemented into InsideUO, but I still wanted to put them together into a screen saver. After determining the ordering and structure for the animations, I decided on Blackthorn's retreat--since Blackthorn was one of very few people that were complete (in that he didn't need clothes layered on him, or his palette adjusted). Confused Army followed, as did the whole Plug-In concept. I don't have the Delphi code for making a Plug-In cleaned up, but if I get enough requests for it, I may make it publicly available. |
